Even with something such as Portal 2.Not sure about their move with 'not wanting to create a new engine/just continually upgrade the Source engine' as they've stated recently, but if they could create something, say, in the sci-fi realm that was as quality as HL2 but even better, and as you've said, original, I'd count on it being fantastic. Click to expand.I believe 2 things have been said, that the team have decided not to work on half life because they had other projects they wanted to work on (Portal 2) and that episodic releases were coming to an end.From that we can infer there will be no more HL2Ep3, however it doesn't mean there is now HL3 in any way, in fact the leaked source code inside the dev build of DOTA2 had references to unique HL3 elements which is a good reason to think they've done at least the preliminary work on it.
